THURSDAY, APRIL 22, 2010 (all activities are on Central Daylight Time) Door prizes will be drawn and awarded during meals at the pavilion. Must be present to win. · 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Participants arrive and check-in throughout the day · Throughout the day, volunteers set up at pavilion for auctions and at arena for clinic and competition · 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Open for sponsors to set up their displays at pavilion · 5:00 p.m. Tee shirt sales begin at pavilion · 5:00 pm. Volunteers set up for pot-luck supper at pavilion · 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Plan to join our traditional “arrival day” pot-luck supper. You are invited to bring your favorite dish to share with the group. Also, bring serving utensils for your dish. Non-alcoholic beverages, plates, napkins, eating utensils and cups will be provided. If you prefer other beverages, please bring your own. · 6:30 p.m. Welcome during dinner by Back Country Horsemen of North GA (BCHNG) · 7:45 p.m. Pick-up singing and music around bonfire next to pavilion for those interested · 8:00 p.m. Brief meeting at pavilion with volunteers to finalize assignment schedule for Friday through Sunday
FRIDAY, APRIL 23, 2010 · 6:30 – 8:00 a.m. Country breakfast at pavilion · 7:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. SIGN-UP FOR OBSTACLE CLINIC! At breakfast, Larry Simpson will talk briefly about the Trail Obstacle Clinic he will teach Friday afternoon & take registrations at the pavilion. (This clinic is open to full weekend participants ONLY. Entry fee is $10 per person and all forms are available at pavilion or on website at www.bchng.org to register in advance.) · 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. Daily weather report posted and trail map overview available at pavilion, sign-up for Wrangler-led ride · 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. Tee shirt sales booth open · 8:30 a.m. Volunteers assigned to auctions continue set up at pavilion · 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Silent Auction open all day · 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. Trail Obstacle Clinic offered in arena (Sign-up forms & waivers at pavilion & arena) · 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Supper at pavilion · 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. Welcome, announcements and remarks by BCHNG, and “Order of Go” announced by Larry Simpson for Saturday Open Competition · 7:00 – 7:30 Wine Tasting (tentative) · 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. Nancy Chancey, around the bonfire or at the pavilion—depending on weather. Nancy sings blues, country, Southern rock, soft rock, folk, pop and jazz. Great voice; great versatility. A real treat!
SATURDAY, APRIL 24, 2010 · 6:30 – 8:00 a.m. Country breakfast at pavilion · 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. Daily weather report posted and trail map overview available at pavilion, sign-up for Wrangler-led ride · 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. Tee shirt sales booth open at pavilion · 7:00 a.m. Volunteers report to arena for Open Trail Competition · 8:30 a.m. Walk-through at arena for Open Trail Competition (All riders registered for the open competition are urged to participate.) Note: Advance registration was requested, but interested riders should check to see if there is still space available to enter the competition. · 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. OPEN TRAIL COMPETITION at arena (Spectators welcome!) · 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Prime rib supper at pavilion · 6:45 p.m. Announcement of winners of Open Trail Obstacle Competition, horse rescue organizations recognized, sponsor acknowledgements, etc. · 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. Wine Tasting (tentative) at pavilion · 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Pre-auction “taste of music” by Nancy Chancey · 7:00 p.m. Silent auction closes and items are presented to winners · 7:30 – 8:30/9:00 p.m. Live auction called by Mickey Farmer, assisted by our own “Vanna White girls” · 830 – 10:30/11:00 p.m. Singing & music around bonfire or at pavilion—weather permitting—with Nancy Chancey. (Plan to bring your favorite songs and your own musical instruments to join in singing and playing your favorite music with Nancy.) · 6:30 – 8:00 a.m. Country breakfast at pavilion · 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. Daily weather report posted and trail map overview available at pavilion, sign-up for Wrangler-led ride · 8:00 a.m. Cowboy Church at pavilion led by Dr. Lee Myers with music by Nancy Chancey · 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. Trail Obstacle Course set-up remains available in arena for practice or fun · 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. Final sales of tee shirts, final pick-up of items purchased at auctions · 10:00 – 12:00 noon Volunteers pack up remining items at pavilion · Participants depart throughout the day. East Fork’s requested check-out time is 10:00 a.m. (NOTE: Guests are welcome to stay longer, but if they do, they are asked to pull their trailers out of the campsites onto the grass in the day parking area and to remove their horses and gear from the stalls so the barns and corrals can be cleaned.) · No further activities are scheduled for the weekend * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Please plan to join us next year for our 4th Annual Benefit Ride at East Fork Stables, April 14-17, 2011.
